Colourful retorts from the northwest frontier
As the vernacular disappears from the English language, our tea towel is a celebration of some of Cumbria's finest historic insults.
Elegant artwork by Kendal-based Evelyn Sinclair illustrates 24 choice Cumberland and Westmorland putdowns, from 'Duddy Fuddiel' (ragged fellow) to 'Swag Belly't' (corpulent around the stomach); 'Stinjy Aal Carl' (bad-tempered old man) to 'Windy Bags' (an incessant talker).
The superb illustrations are screenprinted in Britain on 100% premium organic cotton with fabric woven to the highest standard. The towel is hemmed on two sides and comes with a care label.
The perfect gift for anyone who loves the Cumbrian colloquial sayings... which might be a good time to practise them if they aren't so keen on washing up!
***Here at Inspired by Lakeland we hate waste. Therefore we are giving away a free Foods of Cumbria tea towel with every £15 spent. These are almost perfect tea towels… with just a tiny spelling mistake (bet you won't spot it!). We can’t sell them, but we hope our lovely customers might like them as a free gift. (Whilst stocks last, and only added if it fits in the pack and doesn't incur additional postage costs!)***
